About Us

Getrade was founded in1986 as an Export House to help small-scale farmers and producers to export their products. In 1990, the owner of Getrade, a Ghanian, Ladi Nylander, teamed up with Rosmarie Boos to start handicrafts promotion and to export it to the Fair Trade market. Since its take-off, we export mostly to the Fair Trade market. We are members of IFAT since 1997.

In 1993, we started our reafforestation project for woodcarvers and in 1999, the FPS Society was formed with 28 craftsmen as members. In 2002 our 1000 weavers were included as member-groups.

The Bolga School fund was launched in 2004 , where now 66 students are being sponsored.

In 2004 we took up again trade fair activities to increase our declining Fair Trade markets.
